Sensory Friendly Sundays
At the Science Museum, we strive to create a learning environment that is fun and fulfilling for all explorers. During Sensory Friendly hours, individuals and families can enjoy a quieter, less sensory-stimulating museum experience.
On the first Sunday of the month, the Science Museum hosts Sensory Friendly Sundays, where visitors who learn best in a calmer environment can experience a lights-up, sound-down Omnitheater show at 10 a.m.
Ticket prices for Omnitheater admission range from $8.95 to $9.95. Discounts are available for individuals, families, and groups with limited incomes. Admission is free for working Personal Care Attendants when they’re visiting with a client.
This program was created in consultation with the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM).
We have a variety of tools available to help our visitors with sensory issues make the most of their visit. Ask at the Exhibits Entrance for sound-dampening headphones, a timer, or a kit containing headphones, fidgets, gloves, and sunglasses.
