About this Experience

Vibrating objects make sound! Manipulate objects by plucking, striking, or rubbing them together to hear the sounds they make. A tuning fork, crystal goblets, and a washtub double bass are among the objects that help us investigate sound.

 

PROGRAM OPTIONS: Sound is available as either a large group assembly or an in-depth residency.

ASSEMBLY MAX: 150 students

DURATION: 40 minutes (all K-2 assemblies) 

Learning Goals
  • Scientists investigate the world by asking questions, making observations, experimenting and measuring.
  • Scientists make observations about the world and compare their observations with those made by others.
  • Sounds are made by vibrating objects.
