Photo Reproduction and Use Policies

The Science Museum of Minnesota will reproduce existing images of our collections upon written request and subject to restrictions and guidelines as found in the Science Museum of Minnesota, Science Learning Division Policies for Image Reproduction and Use. Images can be requested as slides, prints, transparencies, or scans.

In addition to a reproduction or image fee, an additional use fee will also be charged if the image is to be published or displayed. Exceptions to the use fee may be granted for academic papers, theses, or dissertations. If an image does not exist, there is an hourly cost for new photography in addition to the image and use fees.

Fees will be charged based on a case by case basis. Please be sure to fill out the form fully with as much detail as possible. This will provide the basis for all charges. Once the fee has been established the work will begin.

• Science Museum of Minnesota images may not be used as endorsement for commercial products.
• The Science Museum maintains copyright and must be properly credited for images, per the Policies and Permission agreement.
