Special Events

Storms on Stage
Weekdays: 2 pm
(Except March 20-24)
An interactive Science Live Theatre program that demonstrates the scientific principles involved in the formation of a storm cloud, lightning, thunder, and other weather phenomena.

Storytelling in Mythic Creatures
Daily: 12-4 pm
(Except March 20-24)
Dragons, mermaids, and their mythic brethren have their roots in the rich stories of their cultures of origin. Tour the Mythic Creatures exhibit and hear those legends told by the seasoned actors in our Science Live Theatre company!

Prototype Day!
Wednesdays, March 29 and April 5: 12-4 pm

Get a glimpse of the exhibit development process at the museum! See how the Science Museum of Minnesota tests its exhibit components with visitors to make sure they are fun, educational, and safe. We’ll bring our current prototypes out to share with you!

Nano Day
Saturday, March 25: 12-4 pm

Part of a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering. Take part in hands-on activities that demonstrate the special and unexpected properties found at the nanoscale!

Meet the Makers
Friday, April 7: 1-3 pm

What does it take to build an exhibit? You’re about to find out! Meet the Science Museum exhibit professionals who created the brand new Sportsology exhibit. Developers, designers, prototypers, and fabricators will all be on hand to share their experiences and answer your questions.
