Today is Giving Tuesday, a global campaign that harnesses the power of social media to kick off a season of charitable giving. Some estimate it will be the largest single day of giving in the world. In 2017, more than 150 countries participated in the #GivingTuesday movement, raising more than $300 million for nonprofit organizations worldwide. Business analysts expect this year’s impact to be even greater.
With the buzz surrounding Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the rearview mirror, Giving Tuesday helps us focus on the good that we can do in our community, showing us ways we can offer support to the organizations that are making a real difference in the world we live in.
On this Giving Tuesday, consider a gift membership to the Science Museum of Minnesota for your loved ones or favorite science enthusiasts. Your gift will provide 365 days of science fun and family memories for its recipient, but it will do much more than that. It will also help support the Science Museum's innovative and far-reaching hands-on programming - the programming that is woven into the fabric of our community and inspires visitors see themselves in science.
Through its exhibits, films, events, education programs, and research projects that span the globe, the Science Museum touches hundreds of thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds each year. And with more than 8 ½ acres of exhibits, plus a state-of-the-art, giant screen Omnitheater, it offers much more than you can possibly do in one day. A membership, then, is a perfect experience gift – one that doesn't fill our closets with more stuff, one that allows recipients to return again and again throughout the year to enjoy new offerings and re-visit their favorite features, and one that is meaningful, economical, and makes a difference in our community.
Thanks for your support of the important work underway at the Science Museum every day. We couldn't do what we do without the generosity of those who share our passion for science, education, and equity.
