The Science Museum of Minnesota reserves the right to change any part of the benefits listed below.

PRE-TAX BENEFITS
EligibilityEmployees regularly scheduled and working 40 hours per work week.
Medical InsuranceEmployees may select from two medical plans. Benefits are offered in various coverage levels including single, single +1 and family. Employees may enroll their spouse, unmarried dependents (to age 26), and same or opposite sex domestic partner.
Dental InsuranceOffered to employees and their families. Employees may choose between single, single +1 or family levels of coverage and may enroll their spouse, unmarried dependents (to age 26) and same or opposite sex domestic partner.
Retirement PlanThe museum offers two opportunities to save for retirement through Mutual of America. Employees may participate in a 403(b) plan immediately upon hire through pre-tax contributions or Designated ROTH contributions. Employer match is available so long as participants meet minimum plan requirements for eligibility.
Flexible Spending AccountOpportunity provided to set aside pre-tax dollars to cover out-of-pocket dependent care and/or medical/dental expenses.
SuperSaver© Bus CardMonthly bus cards are available, each valid for 31 days, at employee’s expense. Funds can be withheld on a pre-tax or post-tax basis.
ParkingContract parking is available in the museum parking ramp and surrounding surface lots at employee’s expense. Funds can be withheld on a pre-tax or post-tax basis.
DISABILITY BENEFITS
Life and AD&D InsuranceTwo times annual salary. Voluntary life is also available for employees and their dependents.
Short-term disabilityUp to 80% of pay provided depending on length of service at the museum.
Long-term disabilityProvided at 66 2/3% income replacement.
OTHER AVAILABLE BENEFITS
Paid Time Off (PTO)PTO is used for all time off, including vacation, sick time, and holidays. New employees may expect to accrue between 28 and 31 days per year depending on grade level.
DiscountsEmployees receive a limited number of complimentary Omnitheater and exhibit hall passes. Discounts available in museum stores and cafes and on classes offered by the Science Museum of Minnesota.
Direct DepositAvailable for most financial institutions.
Credit Union & Workplace BankingEmployees are eligible to join Affinity Plus Credit Union or participate in the workplace banking program through US Bank.
HoursAdministrative office hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some positions related to museum operations may require evening and weekend work hours to coincide with museum hours.
Pay CycleEvery other week on Fridays (26 pay periods per year).
