Our parking garage is located in downtown St. Paul at 120 W. Kellogg Blvd. and can be entered via Chestnut Street. The cost is $15/day, open to all, with discounts available for members and Great Tix purchasers during museum hours.

Parking in the ramp is free for Explore Store shoppers for the first 15 minutes.

The Science Museum is just a few blocks from the Green Line and near several bus routes. Use Metro Transit Trip Planner to find the best route for you.

Groups of more than 15 people save $3 per ticket. To plan your group visit, book online and the discount will apply automatically or call (651) 221-9444.

We also offer facilitated group experiences. 

The museum has two on-site restaurants with ample seating. You are also welcome to bring your own food for your visit. 

The Cafe on Level 5 is open Sunday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. This coffeehouse-style location offers fresh snacks, smoothies, sandwiches, desserts, alcoholic beverages, and other fuel for your museum fun.

The Kitchen on Level 6 is open Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Hot meals including snacks, sides, soups, and mains are available.

Indigenous Museum Access: Free
This program is part of our ongoing Indigenous reconciliation work, through which we are working to acknowledge the wrongs museums have enacted on Indigenous populations. We are committed to authentically engaging with communities and honoring, amplifying, and uplifting Indigenous ways of knowing.

Great Tix for Individuals/Families: $3 

This is our access rate for individuals or heads of household who are at least age 18 and enrolled in one or more of the following are eligible for the Great Tix rate: TANF, MFIP, WIC, General Assistance, Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability Benefits, Food Stamps, Section 8, Free/Reduced Price School Meals.

Great Tix for Community Organizations: $3 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities (BBBS) matches can purchase tickets at the Great Tix rate. If you buy online, select the Great Tix rate. If you call (651) 221-9444 to reserve tickets, ask for the Great Tix rate and say you’re a BBBS match.

Nonprofit 501(c)3 agencies primarily serving a limited-income audience may be eligible to bring groups for the Great Tix rate. Call (651) 221-9444 for more information.

Adventurer Membership: $18 per year

Lockers are located in our lobby and vary in cost from $2 to $3. Lockers are electronic and accept a code for access. Locker kiosks only accept credit cards.

Our Backyard — the museum’s outdoor exhibit space — is open during the summer.

Our exhibits are stroller and wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available at no cost upon request from the Visitor Desk.

No weapons of any kind are permitted on museum premises, including firearms, knives, explosives, or other dangerous items. This policy applies to all visitors, including those with concealed carry permits.

Law enforcement officers on official duty are exempt.

Visitors in possession of weapons will be asked to return them to their vehicles or denied entry.

You can leave and re-enter the museum on the same day, just make sure to keep your ticket barcode with you.

The Science Museum of Minnesota is committed to a safe and educational environment for all. To maintain and improve this environment, we ask all visitors to adhere to the following guidelines.

Show respect for the diverse identities of all museum staff, volunteers, and visitors. This includes respecting their personal pronouns, cultural heritage, religion, spirituality, language, and clothing.

Do not leave items unattended. The museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Visitors must refrain from:

• Verbal or physical abuse of staff, volunteers, or other visitors
• Hate speech of any kind
• Intentional disrespect of staff, volunteers, or visitors identity. This includes, but is not limited to, derogatory comments about race, religion, sex, or gender identities
• Being intoxicated or physically impaired by drugs (legal or illegal) and/or alcohol
• Using tobacco (in any form) outside designated areas
• Video or audio recording of Omnitheater films 
• Failure or refusal to follow directions given by staff
• Carrying or concealing weapons of any kind
• Attempted vandalism or theft

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in being removed and/or trespassed from the property without a refund. Final decision rests at the discretion of Museum Security and Visitor Services teams.
