Sound
Vibrating objects make sound! Manipulate objects by plucking, striking, shaking or rubbing them together to see what sounds they make. Create an instrument and “see” the sound your instrument makes when you play it.
 


ASSEMBLY MAX: 150 students

In this in depth classroom session, students will...
 
  • Clang, Rattle, Twang - Grades K-2
  • Students dive deeper into the four types of sounds covered in the Sound Assembly. They explore various ways to make objects vibrate through striking, plucking, rubbing, and shaking. The class culminates in creating instruments that make sounds in various ways and demonstrating them for classmates. 
Learning Goals
  • Scientists investigate the world by asking questions, making observations, experimenting and measuring.
  • Scientists make observations about the world and compare their observations with those made by others.
  • Sounds are made by vibrating objects.
