When we did our Tool Time activity I noticed something interesting. People didn’t focus on what they were making because they were having fun using the tools and their hands. It was fun overseeing people and how they solved their problems and how families worked together to unscrew a bolt. I wanted Tool Time! to be better so I started making improvements on the activity.
The structures we had originally were big and clunky so I decided to make smaller pieces. I also decided to add wingnuts instead of regular nuts because of how difficult it was to hold a nut with a wrench. After some conversations with my peers we decided to only use bolts and leave out screws because screws overtime will wear away the holes in the wood.
Overall, I feel like this activity will turn out splendid!
