Volunteer helping with Shaving Designs

Last week, I began working on a new activity appropriately named Shaving Designs. The objective is to have visitors create designs with water colors. To do this, the visitors place their colors on a bed of shaving cream and swirl the paint with toothpicks. After, they press their design on a piece of cardstock and shave off the excess shaving cream. The final product is a beautifully transferred design.

Shaving Designs was extremely popular and took off on the floor. It was a bit messy, but many adjustments were made during its run (thanks to volunteer input!). I plan to re-run it on the floor this coming Activate Saturday and see a smoother run. The future of Shaving Designs looks bright! I will update soon and hopefully, it will be inaugurated as a permanent activity.
