On the floor with circuit blocks

As a MakerCorps intern, one component of the position is to research and develop (R&D) new activities or build on older ones for our Activate program. After tinkering with some current activities, I decided to add onto the popular Circuit Blocks. Above you can see photos of the latest addition to Circuit Blocks… a LilyPad block! I think the addition will enable more creativity from visitors and have interesting outcomes. The idea is to allow visitors to use ArduBlock (a visual drag-and-drop tool for Arduino) to program more intricate circuits.  This past Saturday, Programming Blocks had its first test run on the floor. It ran into some technical difficulties, however I’ll run it again this Saturday and I’m hoping for a smoother run and some constructive visitor feedback.
