Brighter Futures: Childhood in BalanceBrighter Futures is a short program produced in partnership with the Minnesota Channel of tpt. Adults who emerged from challenges that came early in life offer their personal and compelling stories about what brought their lives back into balance. Therapists, scholars and parents add their experiences and expertise in this look at the importance of creating balance in early childhood. For channel listings in your area, check the Brighter Futures: Childhood in Balance page on tpt's website. Citizen ConferencesA series of Citizen Conferences was held in the Twin Cities and outstate Minnesota in 2011. A diverse mix of parents, community members, state and local policymakers, early childhood advocates and interested citizens gathered for half-day working sessions to discuss what society's responsibility is to children ages 0-5. The Conferences were carefully designed to ensure voices from across the community were heard. Issue ConversationsThe larger Citizen Conferences are augmented by small-group Issue Conversations. Organizations and community groups are encouraged to consider how the exhibition and programs can further their own efforts at education or coalition-building. Priority is given to those working with low income populations. |
