MN Babies

Thursday, April 19, 2012
7-9 p.m.
Science Museum of Minnesota
Auditorium (Level 3)

The MN Babies lecture "structure" is loosely based on the 2010 movie Babies, directed by award-winning filmmaker Thomas Balmès. Babies simultaneously follows four babies around the world—from birth to first steps. Re-defining the nonfiction art form, Babies joyfully captures on film the earliest stages of the journey of humanity that are at once unique and universal to us all.

Our lecture, MN Babies, will involve a panel discussion of early childhood learning, and its connection to culture. No value judgments will be made—rather, this lecture will provide context for how we all learn within our own family setting.

Lecture panelists represent all of the major ethnic communities found in Minnesota:

  • African American
  • European American
  • Hmong
  • Latino
  • Native American
  • Somali

Science Museum members: $8
Non-members: $10
Great Tix: $5
