At the Science Museum, we're committed to making your field trip a seamless and rich experience, with programs designed to support science standards, an easy, one-stop booking process and expanded bus subsidy programs and discounts to help make your visit both affordable and rewarding.

It's easy! We've done the prep work. All YOU do is tell us when you'd like to visit. Submit a Reservation Request or call (651) 221-9444 or (800) 221-9444.

Due to the intensity of Tornado Alley, The Big Weather Experience is best suited for students in grades 3-8.

COST: $12 per student

When you book The Big Weather Experience,
your students will:

Watch Tornado Alley in the Omnitheater.
An amazing film that takes you inside a tornado with the team from the hit Discovery Channel TV show, Storm Chasers, and travels along with the VORTEX 2 research team as they collect data that can save lives in the path of storms.

See Storms on Stage in the Auditorium.
Free with your fall field trip, Storms on Stage is an interactive Science Live theater program that demonstrates the scientific principles involved in the formation of a storm cloud, lightning, thunder and other weather phenomena.

Visit the museum's weather exhibits.
Students will experiment with a one-story-tall tornado model, observe warm and cold air fronts colliding, investigate high and low pressure computer models, and more through self-directed, exhibit hall learning experiences.
