Water

Water has concluded its run at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

Special Exhibition: January 30 - April 26, 2009

fog curtainThis winter, the Science Museum will take you on trip around the world to experience the role that water—in both its scarcity and its abundance—plays in shaping our land and cultures.

The Water exhibition uses innovative technology, beautiful imagery and interactive exhibits to demonstrate the beauty, fragility and essential nature of water.

Enter the exhibition through a stunning wall of fog. Marvel at Science on a Sphere, a 68-inch globe that displays satellite images of Earth via a state-of-the-art projection system. Wander through a towering recreation of a water-carved slot canyon to get a large scale look at the ways water shapes our landscape. Quiz yourself on your knowledge about the Mississippi River, the Great Lakes, and the planet's "virtual water." And discover some of Minnesota's own "water heroes" who have made a commitment to protect and conserve water resources in some creative and inspiring ways.

The perfect complement to Grand Canyon Adventure in the Omnitheater, Water will leave you with a renewed appreciation for this essential resource and a better understanding of the ways you can help protect and conserve it.
