Summer is almost here and as we wrap up the school year we're looking ahead to great times for all ages this summer. Summer camp registration began back in February but there's summer fun to be had for adults as well. Check out our offerings below for both families and adults.

Family Program: Forest Fairies & Gnomes
Saturday, June 2, 10-11:30 a.m.
Registration deadline: May 30
Get ready for an enchanted nature adventure as we explore the delightful world of forest fairies and gnomes. We will create gnome and fairy houses, go on a magical treasure hunt, and tell captivating stories. Younger children may need assistance for some of the crafts. $3 Adults, $2 Children (Ages 2-12)

GPS Adventure
Saturday, June 9, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Registration deadline: June 6
Looking for a new adventure? Curious about how a GPS works? This program will introduce you the technology behind GPS and give you a chance to explore the Warner woods with a GPS as you look for hidden containers. Warner will provide the GPS units. $5 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $7 nonmembers, (Ages 6+)

Dragonfly Bioblitz
Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Registration deadline: June 16
Warner Nature Center is home to dozens of species of dragonflies of all sizes and colors, including some that had never been found in Minnesota until now. Join us for a day of dragonfly monitoring in Warner Nature Center's wetlands. You will learn where and when to best look for dragonflies, basic identification and collection techniques for studying dragonflies in your own backyard. This will be a great family event, bring an insect net if you have one. FREE (All ages)

Fly Fishing for Adults
Monday, Wednesday & Friday, June 25, 27 & 29, 6:30-9 p.m.
Registration deadline: June 21
Back by popular demand! Join WNC director, Ron Lawrenz, at Warner Nature Center for three evenings to learn the basics of fly-fishing. This includes a review of equipment and how to rig it, fly tying basics and tying a fly or two, casting instruction, and finally spending an evening fishing hefty sunfish and bass with flies you have tied. All fly rods and reels are provided. $65 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $75 non-members (Adults)

Fort Buildin' & Campfire Cookin'
Saturday, June 30, 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Registration deadline: June 29
Join us for a fun day of building emergency shelters in Warner woods with a naturalist, followed by an outdoor class learning about fire starting and campfire cooking. Learn about different cooking techniques and apply them as we make our lunch over the fire! Participants need to bring their own cup, utensils, and plate. $13 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $15 nonmembers (All ages)
