Phenology
Phenology is the study and science of appearances and how they change over the seasons. The word itself is related to the word phenomenon. Think of phenology as recording and studying the natural phenomenon that occur around us every day. Learn More
Warner Corner
Hop, skip, jump...leap! In an ever-busy world where we find there is not enough time to do everything that we would like, the calendar helps us out. Every fall we gain an hour of daylight with daylight saving time so we can be outside and do more activities in the light of the sun. Every spring as the daylight hours grow we revert back to standard time and we have to give back the hour. There is always some balance, an equalizer that never allows us to actually get ahead. Until this year. This gain of time is not a new phenomenon, in fact it happens every four years, 2008 is a leap year. Learn More

Meet Our Animals
Warner Nature Center has 13 captive animals that help us educate people about the natural world. All of our animals are in captivity because they are no longer able to survive in the wild. Some of them are injured, like our Barred Owl who is blind in her left eye, while others, like the Spiny Softshell turtle, were formally pets and no longer have the skills to be competitive with their wild counterparts. Research
The Lee and Rose Warner Nature Center is proud of our tradition of science-based learning. As part of our mission and history we seek to use our site for research so visitors can have the opportunity to learn about scientists and our staff can learn more about the site we teach on. Learn More
