Jaymes H. (Jay) Schoenberg Summer Camp Scholarship Program
Warner Nature Center is offering our summer camp scholarship program in honor of Jay Schoenberg again in 2014 thanks to generous donations from family members and friends of Jay. Jay was a summer camp student and later a volunteer Summer Camp Assistant for Warner Nature Center over 12 years ago. Jay passed away in a rafting accident in Alaska in 2009 and his family wished to create a scholarship fund in his honor as he had a love of nature and Warner Nature Center.
Two types of scholarships are available for interested applicants:
Scholarships for 85% of the price are available for families currently receiving public assistance (MFIP, general assistance, WIC, Medicaid or Medical Assistance, SSI, food stamps, or MN Care).
Scholarships for 50% of the price are available for other families needing assistance. These awards are based on financial need.
You will be notified of approval within three days of receipt of application.
Scholarship recipients are eligible for two camp scholarships per summer. Due to our generous donors for this scholarship program, we are allowing families to apply for consecutive years for scholarships again. Scholarships will include the cost of van transportation to and from the Science Museum of Minnesota, if needed.
Apply soon! Scholarship spots will be held until April 2. If no wait lists exist for a scholarship spot, the spot will continue to be held until camp begins.
