Warner Nature Center - Policies & Waivers
By registering for a Warner Nature Center class or camp, you are agreeing to the following:
Participant's Waiver
I understand and agree that I am participating in the nature center program voluntarily and at my own risk. I will not hold the Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center or its officers, directors, or employees liable for any negligence or alleged negligence or other fault (not including intentional acts) that results in personal injury, death, or property damage during or in connection with the above program. The undersigned, for myself and for my heirs, executors, administrators, and assignees, hereby releases and forever discharges the Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center and its directors, officers, and employees from all such claims. This waiver will be construed according to the law of the State of Minnesota.
Medical Release
I hereby give my permission for the Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center to procure all necessary medical help for myself, my child or ward while said person is under the direct supervision of the Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center, and grant permission to its representatives to authorize any competent medical person to do all things reasonably necessary to take care of any injury or sickness.
Photography/Media Release
I understand that a picture or pictures of my student may be used for publicity purposes by the Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center. Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center and the press may use the photographs for brochures, annual reports, department catalogs, exhibit displays and/or publicity photographs for television news, videos, newspapers, magazines, or for other promotional purposes. Your child’s name will not be used in any captions without your written consent separate from this document.
If you do not want your child photographed, call (651) 433-2427 ext. 10.
Transportation
Warner can provide transportation to and from the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul for all-day (9:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.) classes. Transportation costs $12 daily per child. The van leaves the Science Museum at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m. Van space is limited and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so register early. Transportation for off-site portions of WNC's summer classes will be provided by WNC, and those transportation costs are included in the class fees. Transportation costs for classes having an overnight will be reduced by $12 per day of the overnight.
Cancellations
No refunds will be made unless cancellation is received at least two weeks prior to the beginning of class. Warner Nature Center reserves the right to cancel any class not meeting minimum registration requirements. If this is necessary, you will be contacted at least two weeks prior to the beginning of that class, and your fees will be refunded in full. Credit card refunds will show up as a credit from the Science Museum of Minnesota. Cash or check refunds will come as a check from the Science Museum of Minnesota.
Behavior Code
We expect the same respect and concern that we will show your children to be returned in-kind when they are visiting Warner Nature Center. We reserve the right to expel any child from class who is disruptive or disrespectful, or who jeopardizes her/his safety or the safety of other class members. Your completion of the registration form states that you have read and understand this policy! If we have a problem with your child, you will
be notified by Warner Nature Center staff.
Supervised Space
No supervised space is available at Warner Nature Center—please do not drop your children off early or pick them up late, as we do not have staff available for extended supervision of campers. Supervised space is available at the Science Museum of Minnesota before and after WNC pick up and drop off. For more information, call the Science Museum Education Registrar at (651) 221-4511.
Absences
Please call WNC at (651) 433-2427, ext. 10 to notify us if
your child will not be coming, will be arriving late or if
someone other than you is picking up your child.
