Wonders in the Water

Week 1: June 22-26, 2009
Cost
: $140 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $155 nonmembers

Discover life in, on and around the lakes and ponds at the nature center. While looking for tadpoles, frogs, turtles, and bugs, you might (if you're lucky) observe beavers and loons, too! There will be light hiking, games, art projects, and stories. CLASS IS FULL! Register for Waitlist

Birding for Beginners

Week 2: June 29 - July 1, 2009 (Monday-Wednesday only)
Cost: $90 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $100 nonmembers

Are you curious about birds? Birds have been a focus of many of our Warner programs for over 40 years! We will be investigating the sizes, colors, and sounds of birds in this camp. We will build birdhouses to take home, learn how to put them up, and learn how to observe the birds who use them. We will also see wild birds up close during a bird banding demonstration and meet all three of Warner's resident raptors. Amazing Critters

Week 2: June 29 - July 1, 2009 (Monday-Wednesday only)

Investigate amazing critters of forests, wetlands, and meadows. Wade into the world of frogs and turtles, while looking for beavers and muskrats. Blend into the woods while watching for wildlife. We'll have fun together exploring these habitats while hiking, hearing stories, playing games, and creating art from natural materials. CLASS IS FULL! Register for Waitlist

It's a Bug's Life

Week 3: July 6-10, 2009
Cost: $140 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $155 nonmembers

This class will take you into the amazing world of bugs. Learn about the different life cycles, feeding habits, homes and defenses of these creatures by watching them up close in their natural habitats. We'll get an even closer look by doing some "catch and release" of these swimming, flying, jumping, running and crawling critters using the nets, bug houses and nature scopes that we will make during class. Who Lives in the Water?

Week 4: July 13-15, 2009 (Monday-Wednesday only)

Explore Warner's lakes, ponds, and bog as we search for life in, on and around the water. While looking for bugs, tadpoles, frogs, and turtles, you might see eagles and beavers, too! Nature Play A and B

Week 5: July 20-24, 2009 (Class A)
Week 6: July 27-31, 2009 (Class B)
Cost: $140 Friends of Warner / Science Museum members; $155 nonmembers

Whoever said you can't learn and play at the same time? Spend a week with a naturalist playing in Warner Nature Center's woods, fields, and lakes. The naturalist will have a list of activities and directions to choose from but you'll be free to explore or choose your own course. We can explore a new part of Warner each day. Wildlife Espionage

Week 7: August 3-7, 2009

Do you love to solve mysteries, go on scavenger hunts or discover clues in nature? If so, join us for this exciting camp where campers will get the chance to track animals in the woods, learn how to set live traps and spy on the hidden wonders of Warner. CLASS IS FULL! Register for Waitlist
