Volunteer at Warner Nature Center!
Spend your summer working the trails, feeding our snakes, or assisting naturalists with program prep. Volunteering at Warner is fun plus it looks good on your resume and college applications! Check out these opportunities below:
Trail Maintenance: Help our site manager with invasive species removal, stacking firewood, spreading woodchips on our trails, and any other outside jobs needing assistance.
Animal Care: Help WNC care for its live reptiles, amphibians and fish! Volunteer duties include feeding, cleaning, catching feeder fish at the lake, and taking animals out for some fresh air and sun.
Collections: Help maintain our collection of biological artifacts. Duties include maintenance and repair, inventory, organization, and identification.
Program Preparation: Assist with a variety of activities to help us with our summer programs. Help is needed on a weekly basis to prepare art supplies for teaching younger children, cleaning and organizing teaching supplies, and organizing hand-outs.
Nestwatch: Interested in helping monitor bird nests? Volunteers are needed for this exciting citizen science program at WNC. Participants must be able to attend training and complete program requirements, including gathering and entering data online.
To apply, contact our Assistant Director Julie Grecian at or (651) 433-2427 ext. 12.
