Camping

campingLooking for a place to camp out with your group? Terrapin Lake at Warner Nature Center has been officially designated "primitive" and we have only one campsite on this beautiful secluded lake. The lake is surrounded by hardwood forests of red maple, oak and black cherry.

Our camp site has a campfire ring and an enclosed rustic pit toilet. You can access the site on foot or even by canoe! It is not uncommon for groups to see hawks, eagles loons, woodpeckers and even beavers on the lake.

A naturalist will be assigned to your group and will provide a two hour interpretive program of your choice. There are trails available for hiking as well. The naturalist will be on-site at or near the camp area at all times to assist groups should the need arise.

For over 35 years, visitors have enjoyed our over 600 acres of beautiful hardwood forests, serene lakes and rolling meadows. Located at the westernmost edge of the newly established St. Croix Greenway wildlife corridor, animal sightings are common.

Our camping events are led by experienced naturalists who can tailor each program to the needs of your group.

The campsite is for groups booking educational programs. Fees for using the site start at just $16.50 per person which includes a two hour interpretive program. Groups of less than 15 participants pay a flat rate for use of the site. The flat rate starts at $245.

Please call for a more detailed explanation of how the fees break down.

Your interpretive program can include topics such as canoeing, stargazing, exploring senses, live raptor visit, etc. We can also tailor programs to the needs of scouting groups earning badges or achievements.
