Warner Nature CenterSpecial thanks to the Manitou Fund
The Lee and Rose Warner Nature Center (WNC) celebrated 44 years of building lasting relationships between people and the natural world during 2011. Operated in association with the Science Museum of Minnesota, WNC is funded by the Manitou Fund under the original vision of Mr. Don McNeely, the nephew of Lee and Rose Warner. The oldest private nature center in Minnesota, WNC features over 600 acres of undeveloped woodland, marsh, lake, bog and grasslands.

During the 2010-2011 fiscal year, WNC supported 8 full-time staff, 3 part-time staff, and 3 occasional staff, 134 volunteers, and 250 Friends of Warner. These individuals supported the participation of 12,355 people in 403 events. New construction during this fiscal year included new entrance and building kiosks made from wood harvested in WNC woods, the rebuilding of the north end bog stairs and a successful prairie restoration burn.
