Becoming a Science Museum Volunteer - 2012 Session I

New Volunteer Information & Interview Session
Tuesday, March 27, 6-9 p.m.
Prospective volunteers are asked to attend this event to learn more about and interview for one of the following opportunities: Human Body Gallery Exhibit Interpreter, Collectors' Corner Volunteer, and Engineering Studio Interpreter.

New Volunteer Orientation
Tuesday, April 3, 6-9 p.m.
Once accepted into a role all museum volunteers are required to attend the Science Museum New Volunteer Orientation as an introduction to their volunteer role.

Training
Each role will have its own set of required trainings.

Human Body Gallery Exhibit Interpreter - 4 required trainings
Training #1: Tuesday, April 17, 6-9 p.m.
Training #2: Thursday, April 19, 6-9 p.m.
Training #3: Tuesday, April 24, 6-9 p.m
Interpretation Training: Saturday, May 19, 1-4 p.m.

Collectors' Corner Volunteer - 3 required trainings
Training #1: Tuesday, April 17, 6-9 p.m.
Training #2: Thursday, April 19, 6-9 p.m.
Interpretation Training: Saturday, May 19, 1-4 p.m.

Engineering Studio Exhibit Interpreter - 4 required trainings
Training #1: Thursday, April 26, 6-9 p.m.
Training #2: Thursday, May 3, 6-9 p.m.
Training #3: Tuesday, May 8, 6-9 p.m.
Interpretation Training: Saturday, May 19, 1-4 p.m.

Prospective volunteers are asked to attend this event to learn more about and interview for one of the following opportunities: Aquatic Invertebrates Interpreter, Real Pirates Special Exhibit Interpreter, or one of Science Museum's youth specific volunteer role.

Once accepted into a role all museum volunteers are required to attend the Science Museum New Volunteer Orientation as an introduction to their volunteer role.

Aquatics Invertebrates - 4 required trainings

Training #2: Tuesday, May 22, 6-9 p.m.
Training #3: Thursday, May 24, 6-9 p.m.
Optional Water Collection/Canoe Trip: Saturday June 2, 10a.m.-1p.m.
Interpretation Training: Saturday, May 19, 1-4 p.m.
