This cool tool allows you to take any kind of text...these are some notes from one of our SCRATCH nights and you can make a cool image of the words.

Vocabulary for SCRATCH

It was great to meet face to face again tonight!  I just jotted down a few vocabulary words that we need to be aware of teaching the students when we teach SCRATCH.  Here are just a few
x/y coordinate
sprite
costume
variable
horizontal
vertical
input
output
background
move
glide
Anything else?  Did I already post something like this?

I'm so behind!

As I was reading everyone's blog about their project(s), I'm feeling so behind.  I've been so busy trying to get classrooms and the lab up and running this school year that I haven't had much time to do anything else.  Being part-time this school year does not help either.

Second grade idea

Here is the start for my project. I have also attached a PDF of how i see this working over a month or so.

A very random project practicing new tools!

Here is a random project that I created that was trying to use the tools that are on the SCRATCH cards.  I'm thinking that I'll use the SCRATCH cards to first teach some lessons in October.

scratch grid visual

I made a grid on a large sheet of cardboard and held it up in front of my projected screen with the cat on the stage.  This showed the students where the cat was in the center and helped them visualize where he could/would move to with their script directions.

Halloween Dance

Here is my animated Halloween greeting card example for my 5-8th grade students.  Projects must include animation, sound, background and some sort of Halloween greeting.

I am not having luck attaching a link to here....anyone have suggestions?

English / Spanish board game project

This is the project I made in the last workshop that showed English or Spanish text depending on which button was pushed. It's buggy still, so download ( see the Learn more about this project text below the project?) it and tinker with it to get it to stop one language script when another is started.
