What I have learned:
The major project I did with my students in this grant was to help the students create and interactive quiz of sorts on insects. They had studied insects in science and one of the objectives was to have them learn the 3 parts of the insect body: head thorax and abdomen.

Audience: 22 second graders
Timeline: 50 minute class
Topic: Literature
The class was introduced to the scripts they will need to create an animated version of the book, The Mitten by Jan Brett.
Purpose: The students will be expected to create an animated version of the correct order the animals that go onto the mitten.

On January, I observed Lyne's class when she brought them down to the computer lab. She introduced the Pico boards to her second grade students that day. First she demonstrated the slider, the sound sensor, the light sensor, and then the alligator clips. After her demonstration on how the pico board works, she paired her students. The task for the pair is to open up Scratch, set up the pico board to make the sprite change color through exploration with the alligator clips (this is to prepare them for their Insect Project). Below are the files we agreed we would copy to include in the binders for your workshop participants (excluding the Scratch Cards - I didn't attach them all). Where there more lessons you wanted?
Take a look and make sure it is correct. Also, it turns out color copies for the Scratch Cards are .59 each - so you will need to let me know if you still want those. That puts the total cost for copies at about $9 each plus the cost of a binder or paper folder.
