new blog? I like it!

So how long did it take me to notice the new blog style?  I like it...easier to read and follow!

Introduced SCRATC to another class today!  They were so psyched!  We just learned some vocabulary and practiced animating our name and a sprite but next time we are going to make an animated 4 corner project of Minnesota.  The students have been learning about MN history and they have four categories on their card...I think the four categories are people, places, things and events.  The students are going to create sprites for each corner and animate them.  I'll try and post some of their projects!

I introduced SCRATCH by talking about my cell phone and how someone along the lines had to program it to light up, tell the number that is calling, vibrate, make different ring tones, etc.  So we had a conversation about other things in our world that had some kind of computer programming in them.  Here is a list of our ideas...
Sensors for stop lights
Dryers in the bathroom to dry your hands
Automatic flush of toilets
Automatic soap and sinks in the bathroom
Sensors on mats to open sliding doors

I thought this was a great list!
