I read this article on the Internet of Things and thought a lot about SCRATCH.  This article talks a lot about how there is information stored in so many things and now developers are starting to make the internet communicate with our things. There area few projects and ideas in this article that helped me start thinking of all the amazig things that SCRATCH teaches the kids about!
