Supporting Member Benefits

In addition to supporting the wide variety of programs and opportunities at the Science Museum of Minnesota, your gift offers you benefits as well.

Below is a chart of your benefits at the various Supporting Member levels. If you choose to accept these benefits, your tax-deductible contribution is reduced by $95 for gifts under $2,500 or reduced by $190 for gifts $2,500 and over. If you prefer to waive your benefits or have questions about tax deductibility, please contact the Development Office at (651) 265-9870.

Your generosity in supporting the Science Museum of Minnesota is much appreciated, and these benefits are just some of the many ways that we show our gratitude.

Frequently Asked Questions about Benefits

Q: My son is in college and he's over 18, is he covered under my membership?
A: At the Darwin and Carver memberships, only children and grandchildren under the age of 18 are covered. At the Hopper level (and above), you are able to bring 2 additional guests at no charge.

Q: How do I redeem my free Darwin gift membership?
A: A Curie-level (and above) member is given a Darwin-level membership voucher to give as a gift. The recipient of the gift simply completes and mails the voucher to the Development Office.

Q: What are Collections Circles?
A: Collections Circles are unique opportunities to learn more about the Collections at the Science Museum. Members at the Einstein level (and above) are invited to fill out a survey listing their preferences for a variety of topics. Collections Circles meet quarterly with expert curators and scientists at the Science Museum. If you are an Einstein-level donor, and would like to participate in Collections Circles, please contact Marta at (651) 221-2515.

Q: Are the special events free of charge?
A: Charges for events vary from event to event. However, the July 4th Fireworks and Collections Circles events are complimentary to donors at the Einstein level (and above) with space limitations.
