SCIENCE MUSEUM OF MINNESOTA

Studio 3D mentoring and activities at the Science Museum of Minnesota are offered through the Youth Science Center. The Science Museum is located in downtown Saint Paul, and the Youth Science Center (YSC) recruits youth from the surrounding neighborhoods to work in volunteer and paid positions at the Museum. Studio 3D facilitates two teams of youth that are based in the YSC.

Studio 3D Team
The six Studio 3D team members and their mentor, Bryan Kennedy, work on individual projects, including Flash animations, electronic marble runs, and 3D design and animation. The team also prepares and shares outreach activities with youth at the Landfall Investigation Station. The Studio 3D team meets three times each week: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10-noon.

Playful Invention Team
The Playful Invention team is made up of six youth volunteers. Playful Invention team members work with mentors on art, science and technology projects of their own. They also participate in outreach and peer mentorship by learning, developing and presenting activities to museum visitors in the Playful Invention Center. The Playful Invention Team meets on Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 12-2 p.m.
