PLAYFUL INVENTION CENTER

The Playful Invention Center (PIC) is located on the exhibit floor of the Science Museum of Minnesota. Studio 3D activities in the PIC provide a chance for young museum visitors and their families, classmates, and teachers to build, experiment and play with technology.

Staff and volunteer mentors working in the Playful Invention Center (PIC) introduce particpants to open-ended activities that use computers, recycled materials, motors, sensors, art materials, and electronics. The PIC has regular activity times on the weekends and during the weekdays, and mentored drop-in times on Wednesday afternoons. These open-ended drop-in periods allow youth to work on their own art, science and technology projects with mentors.
