3D PHOTOGRAPHY ACTIVITY

Supplies you'll need to do this activity:

Step 1: Take the Pictures - Using a digital camera, or a film camera (you'll need to scan the picture if you're using a conventional film camera). Choose your subject matter carefully - you want a picture with DEPTH. Snap the first picture. Have your subject hold still and move the camera about five centimeters to the right - snap another image.

Step 2:Now you're ready to start working on the computer. First, get the FREE ANAGLYPH-MAKER SOFTWARE - click on Anaglyph Maker 1.07 to download. NOTE: the software only works on Windows computers.

Step 3: Import or scan your images on to the computer and open the Anaglyph Software. Click on LOAD LEFT IMAGE (this will be the first picture you took). Then click on LOAD RIGHT IMAGE. Now click on MAKE 3D IMAGE - and voila! - you have a 3D image.

Step 4: Now you can make your own 3D glasses. You can download a glasses pattern HERE. You'll want to photocopy or trace the pattern onto a piece of cardstock.

Step 5: Construct your glasses, cut out the pieces from the pattern (1) and a square each of red and blue transparent plastic (2). Tape the earpieces to the frames of the glasses (3), and the red and blue pieces to the inside of the frames (4). Fold the earpieces back and you're all set!
