"The ants got to this chrysalis. Just prior to the chrysalis
stage, the larva excretes a green liquid which when
hardens becomes the chrysalis shell. In this case, ants
found the larva before the liquid set.

As for the threat from ants, some black ants
are meat eaters and smell when squashed.
