that Steve sent From: tonal@ihug.co.nz Date: Thu, 30 Apr 1998 Hi, This is a macro photo of larva at the stage just prior to converting to a chrysalis. Just prior to the chrysalis stage the larva excretes a green liquid which when hardens becomes the chrysalis shell. In this case ants found the larva before the liquid set. Hope you like it. - Where were these pictures taken?
- Do they have monarchs all over New Zealand?
- Do they migrate from New Zealand?
- What kind of ants did that to the chrysalis?
- Why do they do that?
