Frankford Elementary School Frankford, West Virginia

Frankie came from a rural school in West Virginia called Frankford Elementary School. First and third grades there gathered information on the Monarchs (and both classes had "babies" that they released and tagged in the fall). The third grade also sent "paper monarchs" as part of the project and hope they all return in the spring with a message from their Mexican counterparts. "Frankie" is a cuddly brown bear with a built-in backpack. He travels with his own journal and disposable camera. He has traveled across North America searching for monarch butterflies.
