Dinosaur Diorama
Age range: 8 - 12
Type of activity: At-Home Activity
Description:

Take your friends back in time and show how dinosaurs lived in their own habitat.

Create your own stories by cutting out various backgrounds and your favorite dinosaurs.

First download and print the backgrounds. You will need an empty shoebox, a ruler, a pair of scissors, some tape or glue, and string.

Instructions:

  1. Measure the size of the shoebox
  2. Print the background according to the size of the box
  3. Glue or tape the background into the box
  4. Cut out the dinosaurs and plants. Fold back the tabs and attach to the base using glue or double-sided tape.
  5. Some dinosaurs may be hung with a thread on the roof of the box

The science: The life forms on earth change over time. Dinosaurs were a class of creature that lived here for 160 million years, and included herbivores, carnivores, quadripeds, and some scientists even include the birds and fish of that time. Dinosaurs became extinct about 60 million years ago, long before humans evolved, although some of the dinosaurs relatives still exist.
