2000 Historical Changes in Sediment and Phosphorus Loading to the Upper Mississippi River: Mass-balance Reconstructions from the Sediments of Lake Pepin
St. Croix River
2004 St. Croix Basin Phosphorus-Based Water-Quality Goals
The report, "St. Croix Basin Phosphorus-Based Water Quality Goals," presents a summary of the significant research reviewed by the nutrient subcommittee of the St. Croix Basin Water Resources Planning Team and presented at its 5th annual conference, "Protecting the St. Croix: Reducing and Managing Nutrients and Sediments," held in February 2004. The report addresses the nutrient subcommittee's nutrient goal-setting process and contains recommended water quality goals and suggested strategies for implementation. This report can also be found on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's web page.
2004 St. Croix River Basin Facts
The poster "The St. Croix River Basin….." is a two paged fact sheet on the nutrient reduction goals for the St. Croix River. It was developed by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and University of Wisconsin Extension.
2003 A Whole-Basin Reconstruction of Sediment and Phosphorus Loading to Lake St. Croix
This new report describes how sediment cores from the bottom of Lake St. Croix were used to measure changes in sediment and phosphorus loading to the lake from before European settlement (~1850) to the present day.
