Junior Girl Scouts Workshops
Saturday, January 24, 2009 (10 a.m. - Noon)
Science Discovery: This workshop is all about discovering the world of science. You will use chemical reactions to paint paper, play silly games with water, make a simple kaleidoscope, challenge your memory. Then visit our exhibits and do experiments related what you learned in the workshop.
Saturday, February 21, 2009 (10 a.m. - Noon)
Science Sleuth: Investigate how crystals grow, why fingerprints are important to police officers, and what vibration has to do with musical instruments, and more. Have a fun with water tricks and build your own simple machine powered by water.
Saturday, March 21, 2009 (10 a.m. - Noon) and Saturday, March 28, 2009 (10 a.m. - Noon)
Toy Maker: Toys are fun to make and play with. You will learn about the history and safety of toys. Use your creativity and build your own funny wiggle toy, race car powered by rubber band, mechanical doll, and free-fall parachute. You will test and take them home.
Workshop Fees
$15 per child, 2 adults come free for every 8 children; $7 for each additional adult. (Fee includes same day exhibit hall admission for the group, a museum presenter, and all the materials necessary for a 2 hour workshop. Badges are not included).
To make a Scout reservation
Workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We require a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25 children to schedule a program. We encourage partnering with other groups to take a workshop together.
Payment must be received within two weeks from the day the reservation is made. Cancellations: To receive a refund, do so at least two weeks prior to the workshop. A $25 cancellation fee will be deducted.
