Our first book will be Can We Talk about Race? by Beverly Daniel Tatum. Come meet others who teach in similar settings, make connections, discuss challenges and questions, and consider how to use Science House resources to support learning for all students. The book is available in most libraries and in many district curriculum centers. Please let us know if you are having a difficult time getting your hands on a copy. You do not need to attend all of the meetings to participate in this informal sharing of ideas about race and education. We will have coffee and snacks to support our discussion.
Our final meeting to discuss this book will be:
Wednesday, January 7, 4:30-5:30 p.m., Chapter 4 & Afterword
