Our professional development team has extensive experience in working with the scientific community on improving teaching practices at the undergraduate and graduate level, working with K-12 teachers in a variety of contexts, and volunteering in K-12 classrooms. We can provide Scientist Orientation Workshops or custom workshops on science education reform, access and equity issues within science education, working effectively in district partnerships, and grants development. MUSE in Minnesota: Opportunities for Partnerships

MUSE in Minnesota is a State funded K-12 professional development initiative to engage schools and districts throughout Minnesota in sustained systems change efforts in STEM teaching and learning. MUSE in Minnesota will collaborate with an array of institutional partners including the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU), the University of Minnesota (UMN), SciMathMN, the Minnesota Department of Education’s (MDE) Math and Science Teacher Academies (MASTA), and the Math Science Partnerships. MUSE provides access to museum professional development, outreach programs, and Science House materials, and serves as an incubator for regional institutional partnerships. If your department or organization would like to partner with the museum in engaging teachers in professional development around 8th grade algebra readiness and science and math integration; cultural competence, diverse student populations, and the achievement gap; or formative assessment and student learning please contact Erin Strauss at or (651) 221-2574.
