Water

Water is an essential resource for life on Earth and is in fixed supply. Humans use freshwater for many purposes, but pollution can render it unavailable and unsuitable for use. Students will become stewards of water by learning ways to preserve this key element in our lives.

NOTE: The Water program uses latex; please let us know if you have latex allergies in your school so we may adapt our materials accordingly.

Program Options: Water is available either as a large group assembly or an in-depth residency.

Residency Option

OPENING ASSEMBLY MAX: 250 students
RESIDENCY CLASS MAX: 30 students
TIME: 50 minutes

Adding individual classroom sessions to our Water assembly creates a unique Water residency at your school.

GRADE: Class sessions are designed for students in grades K-5.

In these in-depth classroom sessions, students will...

• Water Cycle - Grades K-2
  Race against the 'sun' to evaporate water from puddles, hold clouds in their hands, and condense water to make it rain inside!
• Waste Water - Grades K-5
  Use strainers, funnels, cups and sponges to complete a challenge to clean a sample of "waste water."
• Groundwater - Grades 3-5
  Discover how water can be stored in a variety of places—even between layers of rocks!
• Lake Quality - Grades 3-5
  Monitor the water quality and overall health of lakes!
