Group equipment

Considerations: For the group, we need to provide gear to be used or shared by all. Group gear will include general items for camping and eating, medical needs, and large or specialized research equipment (viz. boats). We should also consider needs for the Mongolians who will be traveling with us.

  • 9V batteries (2?, again, depends on which equipment needs them)

Group camping gear

  • Two 2-person tents for Mongolians
  • Cooking fly/tarp (1-2), with poles, stakes, nylon cord
  • Water purification tablets, or
  • Water-purifying pumps and filters (2, with spare filters)
  • Camp stove, fuel bottle (MSR International -- 1-2)
  • Basin, bleach (for utensil disinfecting)
  • Chairs? (Crazy Creek -- 5)

  • Plastic grocery bags (2-4? Useful for visiting markets, or packing muddy shoes)
