Basic Memberships

  • $99 Family/Household - Two adults and children or grandchildren under 18
  • $69 Dual - Can be shared by two people, or used by one person with one free guest pass each visit
  • $5 discount for seniors (60+) on Household and Dual membership

Liked What You Saw? You can apply a portion of your Omnitheater ticket price from your recent visit toward the cost of a membership. Call (651) 221-9444 within two weeks of your date of purchase for more information.

Non-profit organizations: Our membership program is structured for family units. If you are interested in receiving reduced ticket prices for your non-profit organization, please visit our discounts page for more information on the Great Partners.

Nannies, childcare workers, and personal care attendants: Members may sign up for a "nanny card" that allows discounted admission when a nanny, childcare worker, or personal care attendant accompanies members' children to the museum. Call (651) 221-9409 or email to receive a nanny card.

Supporting Memberships

In appreciation for your generosity, we invite you to become a supporting member of the Science Museum of Minnesota. Supporting members receive exclusive benefits and discounts throughout the year—all designed to enhance the museum experience for you and your family. Your benefits will reduce the portion of your gift that is tax deductible.

Darwin ($150-$249)
Full membership benefits, including:

  • Exhibit hall admission for all members (charges may apply for special exhibitions)
  • One Omnitheater admission for all regularly scheduled films for each member each time you visit
  • Discounts in Explore Store and on selected classes, lectures, trips, and camps
  • Two free passes, per membership, to ticketed special exhibitions
  • $5 flat rate at Science Museum parking ramp—every time you visit
  • 10% discount in Elements Café, Chomp, and Java Lab
  • Invitations to Special Exhibition Opening events
  • Two non-member guest admission passes to Omnitheater films and permanent exhibits, plus discount on guest admissions beyond your two passes—every time you visit

Carver ($250-$499)
All of the above, plus:

  • Recognition in the Annual Report

Hopper ($500-$999)
All of the above, plus:

  • Two additional free passes, per membership, to ticketed special exhibitions (for a total of four passes)
  • Recognition in the Science Museum Lobby
  • Two additional non-member guest admission passes to Omnitheater films and permanent exhibits (for a total of four passes) plus a discount on guest admissions beyond your four passes—every time you visit

Einstein ($1,000-$2,499)
All of the above, plus:

  • Free passes to ticketed special exhibitions (for a total of four passes)every time you visit
  • Opportunity to host a child's birthday party at the Science Museum
  • Invitation to annual July 4 Fireworks Event plus additional exclusive donor events

Curie Society

Curie Society Members are leaders in the community who are passionate about science education and part of an exclusive group who support the museum with an annual gift of $2,500 or more. We are here because of you. Your gift provides the foundation of support that allows us to be leaders in the area of exhibitions, education, teacher professional development, and bringing science to the public in innovative ways. Supporting Member Tax-Deductibility

The amount of your contribution that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the amount of your gift, less the value of certain membership benefits you are entitled to receive. The Science Museum of Minnesota estimates the value of those benefits as follows:

$25,000-$49,999 (Newton) Gift is fully tax-deductible
$50,000 and up (Galileo) Gift is fully tax-deductible

 

The full amount of your contribution is tax-deductible if you have notified the Development Office at the Science Museum in writing that you do not wish to receive member benefits.
