The Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) participates in a practice run of deploying armor and data instruments during a tornado. Visitors to the Science Museum of Minnesota's Omnitheater will see the TIV in action in Tornado Alley, which opens on September 28. The TIV will also make an appearance in the Fox-9 News booth at the Minnesota State Fair from August 23 through September 3.

Filmmaker Sean Casey and the scientists of the VORTEX2 severe weather research project put themselves in the center of the weather action in Tornado Alley, a giant screen film that opens in the Science Museum of Minnesota's Omnitheater on September 28. In this photo from the film, a squall line approaches in central Kansas, with a barn and farm equipment in foreground.
