When you cut down a tree you can see many rings. Each ring represents a year in the life of the tree. If you slice a bone of a dinosaur or crocodile it also has rings. But these rings are very small and hard to see. So you need to use a microscope to see them. In this activity you will see slices from trees, dinosaurs, and a crocodile. Each ring you see represents one year in the life of the living thing. Answer some questions about each slice.

This is a slice of a Spruce Tree.

Which year did the Spruce Tree grow the MOST?
