Project Based Learning and Technology Article

For the TwT (Teaching with Tech Best Buy Grant) we are trying to share valuable articles with our cohort of five teachers. I thought you all may be interested in this article from the Journal of Technology Education. "To develop a broader view of technology and understand how it is both like and unlike science, students should become familiar with the nature of engineering and design" - sound familiar?

At the end of August we met with our cohort of five teachers to make a plan for the fall - this involved creating some professional learning community guidelines for the group and some exciting brainstorming (using the Dendros model) around curriculum ideas for using Scratch in each classroom. One really interesting strand of the brainstorm focused on using Scratch as a public service tool - this was an exciting avenue and something that we haven't utilized in our LTC classes as of yet.
