About LTC

The Learning Technologies Center supports learning through creative and meaningful applications of classic and emerging technologies. Experiences that allow learners to be creative designers; using technologies that include miniature programmable computers, motors, sensors, tools and software to develop games, simulations and digital media. LTC also develops applications that help children, adults and families reflect on their learning.

In order to fulfill our mission, we are working on the following strategies:

• Make in-depth learning opportunities available to young people and adults who could benefit most from access to these environments.
• Model uses of information technologies that encourage rather than replace direct interaction with the physical world and other human beings.
• Develop on- and off-line materials and experiences that spark young people's interest and enable each as individuals to make personal connections to science.
• Partner with museum program developers and other inspired educators to determine if, when, and how technology can further their work.
• Create and support forums for discussing and critically analyzing the uses of learning technologies.
