Teenage Designers of Learning Places for Children - Science Museum of Minnesota

Science Museum of Minnesota

The Learning Places team in St. Paul Minnesota was located at the Science Museum of Minnesota's Kitty Andersen Youth Science Center.

Learning Places in St. Paul were all located at Commonbond Communities Advantages Centers, and the youth that worked on the team were residents of Commonbond Communities.

The team used a social networking site to reflect on their experience and keep in touch throughout the year.

Learning Places at the sites are flexible in design to allow eight themed activity clusters to rotate into the spaces throughout the school year. The activity clusters include:

  • Light Play
  • Marble Runs
  • Wind Tubes
  • Water Games
  • Aerodynamic design and engineering
  • LED Bling
  • Automata
  • STEM games
