#0809-824 KAYSC CREW-MENTOR BUZZ, Kitty Andersen Youth Science Center, Youth Employment Opportunity (8-12 hrs/wk). EEO 9. Hiring high school students to work collaboratively on a team. Mentor Buzz Crew - Youth entering freshman through senior year of high school are eligible. The Mentor Buzz Team will be working with Science Museum staff and scientists and other professionals to create postings on the Science Buzz website. The crew will develop, design, and write website content through field trips, interviews with professionals, and exploration of STEM in topics that are interesting to youth, like sports, music, and current events. Responsibilities: Learn, prepare, and lead presentations and activities for museum public and community partner groups. Lead the groups through examples of learning, asking questions, and engaging in activities. Provide peer leadership and participate in team-building activities. Gather and maintain necessary materials. Follow KAYSC Policies and Procedures. Complete other duties as assigned. Requirements: Interest in math, science, and/or the arts highly desirable. Must be reliable, responsible, thorough, have good communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. Flexibility, self-motivation, and enthusiasm are assets to the job. Must be able to meet Tuesdays and Thursday from 3:00pm-6:00pm during the summer and Thursdays 3:00pm-6:00pm during the school year and one shift on Saturdays. Pay rate: Starting $7.25/hr.
