Thank you for your interest in internships at the Science Museum of Minnesota!
Science Museum of Minnesota internships are offered on a term basis during three, 12 week terms per year. These terms generally coincide with the academic calendar of fall and spring semesters and summer. Applications are only accepted during the recruitment period for each term and only for advertised internship positions. Internship positions are advertised on our website and via postings at the museum during the recruitment period for each term. If you are interested in a topic or department which is currently not offering internships or if your schedule is incompatible with our term cycle, please email jobs@smm.org.
All interns are strongly encouraged to attend the Intern Orientation session offered prior to the beginning of each internship term. At this session interns will complete required paperwork, meet other interns, tour the facility, and learn general information about interning at the Science Museum of Minnesota. The receipt of academic credit is not required for interns at the Science Museum of Minnesota, however it is encouraged and facilitated by all intern supervisors and the Internship Coordinator. If you are applying for a credit bearing internship, please indicate that fact along with the name of the academic supervisor who will be grading your internship in your cover letter.
